What will happen as Facebook expands?

Facebook's chief technology officer, Mike Schroepfer promised that the Virtual Reality (VR) program will come into life within the year. The Oculus headset, which was on their top secret list before, was announced to be available soon, but the exact release date is not yet stated. This project will set changes on the way we live, and Facebook is still making good progress, as they are to pursue plans to build drones to provide underdeveloped countries with access to the Internet, according to Schroepfer.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - During their F8 Developer Conference in San Francisco, Schroepfer showed the public Valkryie, a virtual reality game described as Eve's advanced version, according to the Daily Mail.

The reason that VR will work now, but did not in the 80s and 90s, is "because the technology is more advanced than before and ready for primetime. Each one of these core tracks of technology had to hit a minimum core viability... to get to that sense of presence to sense that you're truly there."

Schoepfer also explained that VR experience will be possible through the use of the device to be shipped by Oculus.

In the same conference, Facebook displayed Aquila, the internet-connected unmanned drone that would fly over the area locations of underdeveloped nations to, basically, sprinkle Internet access like it's rain.

According to the report, the drones will be able to stay up in the air for months, flying for about 19,800 meters. These project are said to be relatively cheap and effective in places without anything to carry Internet or telephone signals, and help reflect phone communications between the satellites and base stations.

According to Schroepfer, Facebook will share more information on Aquila later this year.
