Only a liar is afraid of the TRUTH: Memo betrays liberal fear of conservative internet use
FREE Catholic Classes
According to a story on Breitbart, President Bill Clinton and his White House was worried that conservatives would use the internet to rally, short circuiting liberal control of media outlets. Three years later, Matt Drudge broke the story on the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal. Today, the worst nightmares of liberals have come to fruition.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Referred to by some as the "1995 Conspiracy Commerce Memo" Breitbart ran an article discussing the Clinton's administration's fears and alarm regarding the growth of the internet and its use by conservatives to rally.
Breitbart explained, "The memo notes that the 'Internet has become one of the major and most dynamic modes of communication' and 'can link people, groups and organizations together instantly.
"Moreover, it allows an extraordinary amount of unregulated data and information to be located in one area and available to all,' the memo states. 'The right wing has seized upon the Internet as a means of communicating its ideas to people. Moreover, evidence exists that Republican staffers surf the Internet, interacting with extremists in order to exchange ideas and information.
"The memo also states that conservative think tanks serve as a training ground for future leaders and says conservative institutions 'are to today's media age of political organizations what the Democratic big city party machines were to the New Deal era of political organization'"
Of course, conservatives are not extremists, nor are they all Republican, but they can be a thorn in the side of liberal idealists.
Interestingly, Catholic Online has commonly been accused of being part of the conservative establishment media, although Catholic Online is neither right, nor left, in the traditional American sense, but rather it is distinctly Catholic. It just happens that Catholics tend to identify more strongly with conservative issues and agendas than liberal ones.
Catholic Online is first and foremost magisterial, meaning it does not publish content that is contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church. That makes Catholic Online the essential read for the engaged Catholic who is seeking the Church's viewpoint on issues as opposed to viewpoints that are right or left on a political spectrum.
Every Catholic in the world should read Catholic Online which already receives more internet traffic than the Vatican.
Catholic Online would like to invite every Catholic to ask their family, friends and neighbors to start reading Catholic Online and to visit our site for prayers, information on the saints, as well as news headlines and editorial, written from the Catholic perspective.
