BUSTED! A-list Climate Change deniers go nuts in emails over documentary that exposes ties to fossil fuel industry

The book-based documentary will explain why a stubborn 3 percent of climate scientists still deny global warming in spite of evidence.

An A list of "climate change deniers" has been released, exposing the connections that climate change denial scientists have to the fossil fuel industry and other private firms that are literally paying them for their denial. The leaked emails stem from a documentary to be aired later this year exposing what could amount to a major scandal.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Although science is often funded by the government and private benefactors, its integrity must remain, no matter who writes the check. This is what peer review is expected to accomplish. Scientists without any ties to the original research or its funding, review the work and it either passes their scrutiny or not.

This peer reviewed process has worked and according to aggregated data, a whopping 97 percent of climate scientists agree that climate change is real and is being driven by human activity. However, a frustrating hard core of three percent continue to insist that the rest have it wrong and that there is no evidence that human activities are influencing the climate in any way.

Let us pray for those affected by the greed of man and his appetite for destruction. May they know justice.

For many years, this debate has raged and it is primarily an American phenomenon with American scientists being the most vocal critics of climate change research. The claims these scientists make are also convenient for the fossil fuel industry which is wealthy and powerful. These scientists are also preferred speakers often invited to advise Congress on climate change legislation.

Their mainstream critics have long criticized them as having ties to the fossil fuel industry and being on the take in exchange for their contrarian stance, but until recently the proof has been elusive.

Now, a documentary claims to have the proof. The documentary, "Merchants of Doubt" alleges that a list of researchers have been receiving payments in exchange for public displays of skepticism.

The documentary is partially based on the book of the same name by Naiomi Oreskes and Erik Conway, historians of science.

If these allegations are true -and they have not yet been proven, they could seriously indict and diminish the credibility of those scientists who are listed.

This bloc of climate deniers has been powerful. No study seems to escape their criticism. Sea levels are rising, native people in places such as Alaska are losing their homes, the permafrost is melting and Antarctica is greening, despite this this small bloc of scientists have been effective at neutralizing effective climate change legislation. This is most profitable for the fossil fuel industry which would face steep costs should the United States slash CO2 emissions.

Now, arguing against these deniers could be as simple as pointing to their payola. Such a development could pave the way for the genuine climate change legislation that is needed to aid the world in reducing emissions as well as leading the way through technological developments that could stave off the worst long-term effects of the slowly-unfolding global disaster.

We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

The list of scientists allegedly exposed is copied below. The names of the scientists mentioned to date were gathered from emails leaked to the media. In those emails, climate change denial scientist, Fred Singer wrote to more than two dozen bloggers, scientists and others in a bid to stop the release of the documentary.

"Can we sue for damages?" he asks in one email. Singer asked if there was a way to stop the release of the documentary.

The short answer is yes, if the documentary is packed with falsehoods and lies. However, if the documentary merely exposes the truth, then the day of its release will be bad for those on the list.

According to Inside Climate News, and other journalists, many of the scientists on the list "have financial ties to the tobacco, chemical, oil and gas industries and have worked to defend them since the 1990s."

The list below is copied from Inside Climate News. We suggest you read their article to obtain the details on the people listed below.

We wish to reaffirm that at this time the documentary has not been released and the claims against these people remain allegations. There does not appear to be any breaking of the law involved, although ethical considerations may arise.

However, if the allegations are later affirmed then the world will have a better understanding of why 3 percent of the world's climate experts remain in denial of man-made global warming. --It's because they're being paid to deny it. It would also explain why most of their "research" isn't conclusive, come with qualifiers which water it down to the point of absurdity, or just aren't surviving peer review.
