Greg Walton is often heard quoting the tagline, "It's more than just music...It's about community!" What is also evident with this singer, songwriter, and speaker is that his Christian faith acts itself out in charity and that he partners often with the relief and development efforts of organizations such as Mercy Corps, World Vision and others. This commitment can be heard in his new radio single titled- TUNE OF IGNORANCE.
Greg recalls, "I was inspired to write the song after I started supporting a child in Rwanda through a relief and development organization. By living a Judeo-Christian spiritual life, I believe that serving the poor is central to my understanding of living in love, so I thought writing a song to encourage others to meet the needs of the poor was key."
The song, produced by Jeff Thomas (Matt Maher-Your Grace Is Enough), also features key players including Ken Lewis, Matt Pierson, Scott Dente, and others. In addition to the release of the radio single, Greg Walton will be hosting a coordinating "impact project" during his LIVE concert appearances where concert goers can drop a "buck in the bucket" after he performs the song and proceeds will benefit Mercy Corps.
Greg Walton continues to remain steadfast in his dedication to ministry and has never given up on his pursuit of excellence in his music. He is the recipient of 3 UNITY AWARDS presented by the UCMVA and performance opportunities throughout his career have taken him all over the United States, Canada and Europe. He has performed at hundreds of youth rallies, LIFETEEN events, dozens of festivals and evangelical events, and some of the world's largest ecumenical gatherings including World Youth Day, Creation Festival, NCYC, Kingdom Bound and others. Greg has shared the stage with celebrated artists including PolarBoy, Ceili Rain, DC Talk, Newsboys and others. His music has been distributed by Catholic Music Network, Troubadour for the Lord, Spring Arbor Music, HeartBeat Distribution, and most recently, SpiritandSong Records/OCP. Greg Walton has an impressive track record for an independent artist, but first and foremost he is a dedicated husband, father, youth leader, music minister, and keynote speaker.
